I deleted my facebook yesterday. Not for any sort of dramatic reason, I just didn't care anymore. I don't really care whats going on with anyone back home, if I need anything I can just email my mom and find stuff out.

I might call her tonight.

Facebook just seemed like a waste of time, I was always checking it and there's never anything interesting on it.

I don't blame you.

For a site that is supposed to promote connections betweeen people and friendship I think it often does the opposite, because so many people act different, or are more annoying and irresponsible online. Just a few months back one woman on my friends list kept on posting provocative comments about how she was supporting "anyone but England" in football because she was Scottish, (note: this woman is THIRTY years old) When she got a backlash she got angry and butthurt about it and was then writing people private messages saying "I can support who I want, nobody can stop me blah!" In all she just made herself look like a childish twat.

Flounce around like sharkbait on FB, then expect to get bitten. Simples.

My bro actually got a death threat from some guy over some flippant comment he left on a girl's FB page.... A death threat??? Sheesh.

Either that or people see the friending of you on FB as an excuse not to bother to contact you at all, except perhaps post on your wall once a year when the 'birthday reminder' app thing prompts you.

Then there's the etiquette around do you friend your work colleagues, etc. I'd say no for the most part, but KC had pressure from her boss to friend her.... O_o

Anyways... there's always Google+ - but I've got an account there too and ignore it.

Facebook drama was a factor in my decision, but it wasn't a butthurt "I'm leaving" I was just tired of drama in general. I get enough of it with my housemates and people at work!

As to the work thing, my rule has always been colleagues yes, bosses no. Now that I'm the boss I made it clear to my girls that I do not blame them if they don't want to be my FB friends. I understand that sometimes you need someplace to vent without it ending up in a work investigation.
